According to the death notice of Ezau Maart he died in Willowmore on 17 June 1927 at the age of 96 years and 7 months. Thus he must have been born in December 1830.  He was born in the Avontuur district of Uniondale.

 

He father was Gert Maart and his motherElizabeth Maart. Ezau Maart was married twice. First to Elizabeth Wildschut (who died on 6 June 1879) and later to Elizabeth Swanepoel (who died on 26 November 1926).

 

Five children were born from the first marriage, i.e Hendrick Maart, Elizabeth Maart (later Windvogel),Gert Maart , Jacob Maart and Piet Maart.
